[Case of Styrofoam Reduction Machine] Solving Rust Issues through Stainless Steel Conversion

Solving the problem of rust caused by salt from fish boxes. This is a polystyrene reduction machine where all pathways are made of stainless steel.

Foam Styrofoam Reduction Machine RE-E502X Case Study 1 Industry: Waste Management Application: Reduction of Foam Styrofoam [Customer's Challenges] The company, which collects foam styrofoam primarily from fish boxes at supermarkets in the prefecture and recycles it, has been using the High Melter for over 10 years. Since the introduction of the first unit (RE-E501X) in 2009, they have been operating at full capacity for reduction work every day for 12 years. In 2011, they introduced the second unit (RE-E502) due to an increase in processing volume. Since the foam styrofoam collected by the company mainly comes from fish boxes, some rust occurred on the reduction machine body and various parts due to salt damage, often necessitating parts replacement. Therefore, when considering the update of the first unit, they were looking for a "rust-resistant reduction machine." The High Melter RE-E502X met this requirement. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Case of Styrofoam Reduction Machine] Reducing maintenance costs by updating existing machines.

By updating the aging existing equipment, we reduced maintenance costs such as electricity and upkeep. At the same time, we achieved space-saving and labor-saving benefits.

Case Study 2: Styrofoam Reduction Machine RE-E201 ■Industry: Other ■Application: Reduction of Styrofoam (packaging material) 【Customer's Challenges】 The company, a group company of a major manufacturer headquartered in Nagano Prefecture, is responsible for logistics and recycling. They collect approximately 700 to 1,000 kg of cushioning material (Styrofoam) generated within the group for product packaging each month. Previously, they used a competitor's Styrofoam reduction machine, but faced issues such as "increased maintenance costs due to aging," a structure that easily accumulates powdered Styrofoam in the crushing and reduction areas leading to "complicated cleaning at the end of operations," and "high energy consumption for electricity and exhaust (deodorization)." Additionally, the large size of the equipment and the significant space it occupies were also concerns. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Case of Styrofoam Reduction Machine: Reducing the burden on workers and shortening work time.

By upgrading to a high melter with automatic ingot molding and cutting functions, the burden on operators has been reduced. The quality of the ingots has also improved.

Case Study 1: EPS Reduction Machine RE-E1000A ■Industry: Recycling ■Application: Reduction of Expanded Polystyrene 【Customer's Challenges】 The company located in Aomori Prefecture processes over 15 tons of expanded polystyrene, primarily consisting of fish boxes and cushioning materials generated from food supermarkets, each month. Previously, they used a competitor's reduction machine, but faced issues such as the physical burden on operators due to the need to cool the ingots accumulated in the receiving box, remove them from the box, and stack them on pallets, resulting in longer working hours. Additionally, it was necessary to open the door every time expanded polystyrene was inserted, raising concerns about health issues due to the odors generated. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Case Study of Styrofoam Reduction Machine] Cost-effective Update Utilizing Existing Crushers

By utilizing existing crushers, it has become possible to update while keeping costs down.

Case Study 2 of the Styrofoam Density Reduction Machine RE-E1000A ■Industry: Recycling ■Application: Density reduction of Styrofoam (fish boxes, food trays, cushioning materials for home appliances) 【Customer's Challenges】 The company located in Oita Prefecture is engaged in the material recycling of lightweight and bulky Styrofoam generated from fish boxes and food trays from supermarkets and markets, as well as cushioning materials from electronics retailers. The Styrofoam, which is finely crushed by a shredder, is formed into sheets called ingots by the density reduction machine, and is reborn as a raw material for re-commercialization. Previously, they were using our old model Styrofoam density reduction machine, but due to long-term use, it had deteriorated, leading to issues such as "crushed Styrofoam powder leaking from the gaps of the density reduction machine" and "difficulty in cutting the ingots formed into sheets." *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case of Styrofoam Volume Reduction Machine] Significant reduction in electricity costs with the introduction of two volume reduction machines.

The introduction of a high melter equipped with a two-system volume reduction unit has significantly reduced electricity costs.

Case Study 3: Styrofoam Reduction Machine RE-E2000 ■Industry: Market Relations ■Application: Reduction of Styrofoam (fish boxes) 【Customer's Challenges】 In Nagasaki Prefecture, blessed with rich fishing grounds such as the East China Sea and Goto Nada, the fish market association is involved in the overall operation, including environmental maintenance of the fish market. This fish market uses a large number of Styrofoam fish boxes daily, with approximately 2,500 boxes (about 450 kg) being disposed of each day. The association was processing the disposed Styrofoam fish boxes using two machines from another manufacturer (150 kg/h) for reduction. Simultaneous operation of the two reduction machines increased power consumption, leading to higher basic fees. The association gave up on simultaneous operation of both machines and opted for operating one at a time while installing a demand monitoring device to keep basic fees down. However, even with this approach, the electricity costs remained high, which was a source of concern for the association. Additionally, during the crushing of Styrofoam and the discharge of ingots, Styrofoam dust would scatter, requiring significant effort for cleanup. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
